Cornerstone Awards Celebrate FTTH Network Deployments

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO — September 28, 2006 —Two housing developments built around state-of-the-art fiber optic networks were recognized with Cornerstone Awards at the Broadband Properties Summit this month. Zoomy Communications' Open Access System (OASYS™) powers the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) networks at Rockfire-at-the-Lake near Topeka, Kansas and The Village at Tradition near Biloxi, Mississippi. OASYS is a high-performance fiber network that offers open access to multiple service providers. Designed, built and operated by Zoomy, OASYS delivers all communications services to the community over a single fiber.

Rockfire-at-the-Lake, recognized for Best Midwest Development with FTTH, features the first open access FTTH network in Kansas. Jes Santaularia, president of Rockfire-at-the-Lake, said the developer is committed to the family oriented life style of the Topeka community and that, "FTTH is a technology that allows the residents and businesses of Topeka to compete effectively on a national basis."

"Broadband technology is an increasingly higher priority for new homebuyers," said Jes Santaularia, "And it only makes sense to build new developments with an eye toward the future. We chose Zoomy because their fiber-to-the home (FTTH) communications solution makes Rockfire-at-the-Lake homeowners ready for technology advances that are ten years down the road."

"Kudos to a developer who understands the value of fiber to homebuyers," said Steven Ross, editor-in-chief of Broadband Properties Magazine. "Mr. Santaularia is a visionary entrepreneur, who also happens to be a developer. He understands fiber's impact on running an effective hedge fund company, and the value that fiber brings to his development."

The Village at Tradition's Cornerstone Award was presented for Best Use of New Urbanism Design with FTTH. Gerald Blessey, president of Tradition Properties, Inc., the developer of theTradition master planned community, sees FTTH infastructure as a vital amenity to homeowners in the development.

"Arising out of the destruction of Hurricane Katrina, Tradition's mixed-use community fulfills a vision of what FTTH can mean for residents and businesses," said Steven Ross, editor-in-chief of Broadband Properties Magazine. "As the Biloxi area rebuilds, developers like Tradition have the foresight to know that the "all buried" FTTH infrastructure will be of significant value to Mississipii communities going forward."

"Fiber-to-the-Home technology offers many advantages to our residents in terms of service delivery and reliability in the event of future storms," stated Blessey. "We selected Zoomy Communications for their leadership and expertise in FTTH networks and for their open access model, which gives our residents' expanded services and a choice of providers."
